Kaupunkimme festival brings new perspectives to urban development and invites everyone who wants to create and vision a better city of Oulu. The festival will be held for the third time on Thu–Sat 25–27 May 2023!

Kaupunkimme brings together discussions, actions and experiences about sustainable urban life and its development from a Northern perspective. The festival strengthens the ongoing dialogue in our city, looks for solutions to the current urban challenges and presents new perspectives on urban development together with city residents, associations and public and private sector actors.

 

The main venues for the 2023 festival are the Cultural Centre Valve (Hallituskatu 7) and Kulttuurilaboratorio (culture lab) of Oulu Urban Culture (Pikisaarantie 15). We’ve also included point event in Meri-Toppila and the Oulu city centre. The open discussions of the festival program are mainly organized in Finnish, English is also used in the workshop-like implementations.

 

Kaupunkimme festival wants to encourage the people of Oulu to join in dreaming, planning and making a city that looks like all of us. At the same time, we increase the understanding of what kind of role each of us plays in our city and in Northern urban life. Welcome to Kaupunkimme festival!
