OULU URBAN CULTURE

Oulu Urban Culture (OUC) is a non-profit cultural association established in 2018, dedicated to promoting urban culture, urban development, and opportunities for young adults in the cultural field.

One of our main goals is to transform Oulu into an attractive city through innovative urban culture. We execute surprising events in various spaces, create environments for low-threshold cultural activities, and actively support the self-directed cultural initiatives and employment prospects of young adults in creative fields.

Our operations are goal-oriented and professional. We engage in interdisciplinary collaboration at the local, national, and international levels with various organizations, artists, and producers. Themes that hold significance for us include sustainable development, inclusivity, and cultural diversity.

OUC’s office and cultural venue, Kulttuurilaboratorio, are situated within a cultural center on Pikisaari Island, at the heart of Oulu. We are the official cultural partner of the City of Oulu for the 2022–2024 period and play a significant role in realizing the Oulu2026 – European Capital of Culture program.
